The Keynes Controls wireless vibrating wire strain gauge systems are modular in approach and can installed almost anywhere. The simplest  approach is to use the GPRS mobile phone network and the Ezi-Log Web Interface to give access via a Web page of the remotely acquired strain gauge values.

The cable free systems are easier to install, and in many cases even after allowing for network charges, offer a lower cost for gathering and reporting data than conventional. Once the systems have been installed, the User has the flexibility of receiving regular data reports automatically.  

The use of Auto-resonance sensor excitation ensures that prior knowledge of the sensor operating frequencies are not required as they are automatically determined by the sensor interfaces.

For local field testing of the vibrating wire instrumentation then the modem cab be removed and the complete system connected to a laptop and data acquired using the free Q-Log software.

The Keynes Control cable free strain gauge systems cab be supplied as a complete stand-alone kit, pre-configured for operation with the Ezi-Log Web Software and  ready for installation.

Data can be transmitted as raw data or converted into engineering units directly by the instrumentation, or using the User defined formulae available within Ezi-Log.

The image opposite shows a vibrating wire sister bar being installed into steel reinforcing bars prior to them being covered by concrete.

The sensor cables are brought out of the structure and terminated into the instrument cabinet.

Cable free operations make data gathering more reliable due to the reduced chance of systems damage especially on busy construction sites.
