The ZigBee-24 module operates just like any other ZigBee modem in that the signal strength is best when units are in line of sight of each other.

The advantage of the ZigBee-24 over other similar devices is that is provided as standard in an immersion and corrosion proof enclosure and will operate even after the device has been immersed in water.

The wide operating temperature range and the fact the unit will return to normal operation after water levels have receded makes it ideal for deployment into drains, tunnels, man holes in fact any there likely to flood.

Cable Free Tilt Sensor

In applications where power is not a problem then it is possible to deploy the ZigBee-24 modem connected directly to the Tilt-30-02-SDI12 tilt sensor in order to provide simple, low cost cable free systems. This simple approach to cable free systems makes sure they operate reliably and are easy to maintain.
Installation & operations

The ZigBee-24 modem is connected to the AquaLOG via the 9 pin modem port. It is powered directly from the AquaLOG and can be configured for continuous data transmission or, powered off and set to broadcast data only at a set time to maintain power.

Maintenance

Due to the method of construction of the ZigBee-24 modem and after the device has been submerged for any period of time, wash the device under clean tap water to remove any unwanted material that has collected onto the terminal port and power supply pins.

The gold plated terminal pins should keep the unit safe from immersion damage.
