barometer module
Barometric correction
is carried
out using the optional Barom-SDI12
barometer module. This unit returns
the barometric
value in the same engineering units as the water level sensor. A simple
subtraction corrects the measured water level from the sensor to the
true height height.
The vibrating wire
piezometers are
often deployed in to deep bore holes, open and closed stand-pipes
etc.. and also have the advantage that they can be deployed along way
from data recording stations. Distances from the sensor to the VibWire
interface of up to 5 Km can easily be achieved.
Vibrating wire systems rely on
signal transmission by frequency and and not signal amplitude and this
often enables the sensors to operate into environments not suitable to
conventional solutions.
The optional barometer module can
be controlled by the AquaLOG like any other device enabling barometric
correction of data to be achieved .

The VibWire range of
interfaces
enables nearly all manufacturers vibrating wire piezometers to be used
to form a water level recording system.
The diagram opposite demonstrates a
single channel piezometer system with barometric correction.

PIEZO-RM
SDI-12 Liquid Level Sensors
This range of water
level sensors
use the SDI-12 digital
network for data transmission so there is no loss in accuracy in any
signal conversion process. A precision temperature sensor is fitted
inside the pressure sensor to provide continuous temperature
corrections to any measurements.
The analogue data converter is
built into the PIEZO-RM
so there is no loss in accuracy in
any electrical conversion. The pressure and local temperature values
can be reported in a range of engineering units such as m, cm , mm H20.
