UKAS Traceable Calibration
Keynes Controls utilises only in house calibration service as part of its manufacturing process for all of the range of data acquisition products. All the equipment used has full UKAS trace ability to national standards.  The certificates below show the capability of the calibrator and the date of the latest calibration by the testing authority. Clients can rest assured that all our systems are accurately calibrated at the time of manufacture.

Procedure

Every electronic instrument needs periodic calibration to compensate for component aging and self heating effects. Keynes Controls undertakes calibration only after considerable soak testing to ensure the hardware is operating at its steady state condition prior to testing. This gives a superior result for instruments in continuous operation.  The company maintains strict ISO-9000 rules for calibration operations.
Under Test

The image opposite shows a NetPod 4004 rack system under calibration. Keynes Controls utilise a range of custom software to carry out the calibration procedure. Samples of test data can be supplied upon request at the time of manufacture.

In-House Operations

Keynes Controls only undertake calibration operations for our own products and are not involved in any third party operations. Our expertise is concentrated on maintaining the highest standard for our own systems.

Voltage / Current Calibrator

The main device used for voltage and current calibration is the Fluke 5100B.

Product Details:

The Fluke 5100B Calibrator is among the world's leading calibrators for analogue and digital multi meters to 4.5 digits. The 5100B calibrates precision meters that measure AC or DC Voltage (0-1100V), AC or DC current (200 uA-2A), and Resistance (1 ohm to 10 M Ohms).

Fluke 5100B Accuracies are: DC voltage and resistance (0.005%), DC current (0.025%) AC Volts (0.05%) and AC current (0.07%).
UKAS are the sole accreditation body recognised by the Government to assess against internationally recognised standards, laboratories that provide test and calibration services. UKAS combine a depth of technical knowledge and expertise built up over many years with scientific and technical specialists operating across the entire test and calibration spectrum.

On-line Calibration Reports

Each system is supplied with an on-line calibration certificate. The on-line records clearly show the period over which the instruments should operate before a re-calibration is to be undertaken.

For instruments in continuous use a calibration period of 1 year is recommended. For systems operating periodically then re-calibration after 3 years is possible.
