The image opposite shows both the NP-STRAIN-1 PCB. This interface has been designed for operation in harsh environments and due to its small size can be inserted into sensor casings.

The sensor interface is used to convert load cells, strain gauges etc into intelligent stand-alone devices. Upgrade firmware facility for OEM applications.

Supports User scaled calibration factors to allow for any type User defined engineering unit output such as micro-Strain, Load Newtons.

Introduction

The NP-STRAIN-1 is an intelligent general purpose strain gauge interface suitable for direct connection to strain gauges and load cells. The device connects to any suitable logger supports SDI-12 or RS-485 digital communications.

The product is available as a stand-alone PCB for inclusion for OEM applications, or as a complete sensor with a sealed waterproof enclosure.

Advantages:

Digital data transmission - no errors due to signal losses in cable.
In-situ digitisation - local data conversion prevents signal corruption
Data in engineering / raw value - User Selected
Local temperature reading for thermal compensation when required.
