Sonet Node Fibre Optic Interface Module
Introduction

The ATM-N1-155-Fibre module is used to interface the KCSonet Nodes and data acquisition cards to a fibre optic ATM network. Using single mode fibre the ATM-N1-155 can transmit data to a range of 20 Km using mono-mode fibre and 6 Km using multi-mode fibre.

Each module holds up to 6 x KCSonet Nodes, a single media converter, DC-DC converter power supplies for the media converter. Also included is dual redundant over voltage protection for each KCSonet Node.

The ATM-N1-155 module is predominately used to connect the KCSonet nodes and analogue input modules such as the AD2416VF modules in the form a stand-alone rack system to a data logger PC across a single string fibre network. Multiple systems can be connected together using an ATM switch if required and this allows the synchronisation between all inputs on the systems to be maintained.
